Our Chemistry Department Students Shared Their Internship Experiences

Our 4th year Chemistry Department students shared the experiences they gained during their mandatory internships completed in the summer term with short presentations to the faculty members. Our students, who interned in the pharmaceutical, food, water, and automotive sectors as well as research laboratories, introduced the institutions they worked at, the applications they participated in, and the processes they observed, accompanied by photographs.

Having the opportunity to get to know different working environments, our students gained experience regarding the wide application areas of chemistry by seeing the correspondence of the knowledge they learned in classes to their professional lives. The internship process allowed them to closely understand the importance of technical knowledge and skills, as well as work discipline, taking responsibility, and working within a team.

The presentations were a productive meeting in terms of our students sharing their experiences with each other and evaluating the working conditions in different sectors together. These initial experiences gained while preparing for professional life represent an important step that contributes to our students discovering their areas of interest and shaping their career goals more consciously.
