Within the framework of the National Technology Initiative carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, a seminar titled “Agriculture 5.0: Vision of the Future with Precision Agriculture and Robotic Systems” was organized, in which Assoc. Dr. İlker ÜNAL, Head of the Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots Department, participated as a speaker in collaboration with TÜBİTAK. During the seminar, the characteristic features of agricultural revolutions, levels of mechanization, precision agriculture, smart agriculture, and digital-smart agriculture concepts were discussed in detail. Assoc. Dr. İlker ÜNAL stated that the Agricultural Revolution 3.0, known as precision agriculture, which occurred between 1970-2013 with the opening of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) technology for civilian use, fundamentally changed the understanding of agricultural production, aiming to manage the heterogeneous structure of the field instead of accepting it as homogeneous (single type), and that the starting level of Agriculture 4.0 and subsequently Agriculture 5.0 offered more global solutions for this goal with the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks, artificial intelligence, and many technological tools.
