Our faculty's Department of Eastern Languages and Literatures Research Assistant Dr. Aykut Dal served as a jury member in the 'Chinese Bridge' Competition

Dr. Aykut Dal has served as a jury member in the '25th World University Students Chinese Bridge Competition and 19th Secondary School Students Chinese Bridge Competition' finals in Turkey organized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Turkey.

The event, organized under the auspices of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Turkey and by the Confucius Institute of Middle East Technical University, brought together university and high school students learning Chinese across Turkey.

As part of the program, Dr. Aykut Dal delivered the opening speech following the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Turkey, Mr. Zhou Meifen. In his speech, it was emphasized that the 'Chinese Bridge' competition is not only a language skill competition but also an important academic and cultural platform that strengthens intercultural communication and mutual understanding. Dr. Aykut Dal mentioned that he participated in the same competition during his undergraduate years and had the opportunity to receive language education in China with a scholarship by achieving first place; he expressed that serving as a jury member on the same platform today holds great significance for him.

During the event, students had the opportunity to showcase their competencies in Chinese speaking, presentation, and cultural performance. The competition is significant in terms of demonstrating that interest in Chinese language education and academic interaction in Turkey continues to grow.
