The white coat ceremony for the students of our Faculty's Chemistry Department was held on 18.10.2024 in the conference hall with the participation of our Dean Prof. Dr. Sevilay ÖZER, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZTOP and Dr. Lecturer Şükrü ÜNAR, faculty members, and students. The program began with a one-minute moment of silence in memory of our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades, followed by the National Anthem. Then, the Head of the Chemistry Department, Prof. Dr. Hale SEÇİLMİŞ, provided information about the Chemistry Department, academic publications, and projects, offering advice to the students and concluded her speech with the motto, “Knowledge is power. The more knowledgeable you are, the stronger you are. As strong individuals, we will all be together at your graduation at the end of four years.” Our Dean Prof. Dr. Sevilay ÖZER gave information about the departments of the Faculty of Science and Letters, educational and academic research activities, stating, “In the chemistry department, which started with 2 faculty members in 2007, there are currently 13 faculty members. The main aim of the Chemistry Undergraduate Education is to train our students to have the knowledge and equipment to conduct research and development in chemistry and related industrial organizations. I have no doubt that with your and our efforts, you will reach very good places.” After the speeches, the students wore their white coats, and the ceremony concluded with a cake cutting.
