Our faculty member from the Department of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Prof. Dr. Ahmet ÇİÇEK, won the 2018 Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Outstanding Young Scientist Award Program (GEBİP) award. 

TÜBA-GEBİP Awards; have been given since 2001 to outstanding young scientists working in the fields of natural, engineering, health sciences, and social sciences, to encourage them to continue their scientific studies in Turkey, to form their own research groups, and to reward and encourage their high-quality projects and publications originating from Turkey at an international level. The national and international successes and other awards received by our TÜBA-GEBİP award-winning scientists are considered as a gratifying indicator of the program's success.

Within the scope of GEBİP; a support of 125,000 TL is provided each year for three years. The GEBİP Award also provides an additional support of 25,000 TL each year for the graduate students of the awardee who are in the thesis stage.

At Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), the Cosmetic Application and Research Center KOZAM, established in 2016, aims to provide an alternative solution to sleep problems related to stress with its Aroma Therapeutic Textile product, in addition to the cleaning products such as cream, lotion, soap, liquid soap, and detergent previously produced under the MAKÜ Cosmetic brand. 

In this context, the Aroma Therapeutic Textile product produced by our Faculty's Chemistry Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih EMEN and Burdur Food Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School faculty member Dr. Lecturer Aslıhan CESUR TURGUT being deemed worthy of two awards at the 7th International Cosmetic Congress organized by the Cosmetic Manufacturers and Researchers Association (KÜAD) has been a great source of pride for both our faculty, our university, and our city.

MAKÜ scientists will provide solutions to sleep problems related to stress with the textile products they produce by using the oil of lavender, which is intensively produced in Burdur, rich in aromatic plant cultivation, and placing it into nanoparticles.

Turkey Scientific and Technological Research Council (TÜBİTAK) tarafından yayınlanan ve Scientist Support Programs Presidency tarafından yürütülen “2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program” başvurularında şu ana kadar birçok öğrencimiz, önemli projelere imza atarak büyük başarılar elde etmiştir.
