History Department Graduates Came Together at the First Graduate Meeting

The 1st Graduate Meeting organized by the History Department of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Arts and Sciences was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2025. Graduates whose academic backgrounds intersected in the same department came together years later to refresh their memories and share their experiences with students.

Graduates working in different professions attended the event. Graduates Merve Battal and Emre Girgin shared their experiences in the special education sector, while Zeliha Bozkaya made evaluations regarding working life in the private sector. Merve Kılıç, who works as a police officer, and Eli Ekber Bozca, who works in the public sector, also chatted with students about their career processes and professional experiences.

In a friendly atmosphere, graduates shared their memories of university years while giving advice to History Department students on career planning, work life, and personal development. The event, which attracted great interest from students, aimed to strengthen graduate-student communication and increase departmental belonging.

At the end of the program, the department's academics thanked the participating graduates and took a commemorative photo to mark the day. It was stated that activities aimed at strengthening ties with graduates would continue in the coming years by the History Department.
