First-year students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Arts and Sciences History Department conducted a practical educational activity at Burdur Archaeology Museum on Monday, October 13, 2025, within the scope of the courses “Introduction to Archaeology I” and “Ancient History and Civilization” under the guidance of Dr. Lecturer Şükrü Ünar. The main aim of this activity was to enable students to reinforce the knowledge and concepts they acquired in theoretical courses by observing them on concrete archaeological materials.
This practice conducted in the museum environment allowed students to gain practical experience in identifying, dating, and interpreting the cultural contexts of archaeological artifacts. Additionally, through the artifacts exhibited in the museum, students had the opportunity to directly examine the material culture elements of different periods of Anatolia; thus, they observed on-site how historical processes are related to archaeological data.
