Our Department Faculty Members Contributed to the TÜBİTAK Project “Göller Yöresinin Yakarışı 3”

The implementation process of the “Göller Yöresinin Yakarışı - 3” Project, led by Dr. Zuhal Küçükyaman and with expertise provided by Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Uğur Tozkoparan, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Ahmet Koca, and Öğr. Gör. Anıl Küçükyaman, and supported for the third time by TÜBİTAK, with contributions from our university's expert instructors from Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, has been completed in the provinces of Isparta and Burdur.
Within the scope of the project, 24 participants from all over our country were informed about the negative effects of climate change and incorrect practices on the lakes in the Lakes Region through field observations and applications. The project, in which our university is a stakeholder, aimed to raise awareness against the drought caused by global warming and climate change.
During the events held in the Burdur stage of the project, training sessions on the importance of water, combating climate change, and the protection of natural resources were organized at Salda Lake, Burdur Lake, Yarışlı Lake, İnsuyu Cave, and Sagalassos Ancient City. Thanks to direct field observations, participants' awareness of nature consciousness and environmental education was increased.
In the project, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Uğur TOZKOPARAN from our department served as Project Specialist, while Prof. Dr. Erol KAPLUHAN, Doç. Dr. Kadir TUNCER, and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Onur YAYLA served as Instructors. Prof. Dr. Erol KAPLUHAN provided training to participants on “The Impact of Agricultural Irrigation and Level Changes in Burdur Lake and Kovada Lake,” Doç. Dr. Kadir TUNCER on “The Geomorphological Evolution of Salda Lake and Human Relationship” and “İnsuyu Cave and changes in underground water levels,” and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Onur YAYLA on “The Geomorphological Development of Burdur Lake and Human Relationship” and “Meeting with Nature for Teachers - Orienteering Activity.” Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Uğur TOZKOPARAN from our department contributed to all planning and implementation processes of the project as a Specialist. In this sense, our department will continue to contribute to efforts aimed at preserving natural heritage and developing sustainable environmental awareness.
