Prof. Dr. Zafer Gölen participated in the International “Bosna toprakları: Usora ve Soli – İlk yazılı kaydının üzerinden 800 yıl” conference.

Department Chair Prof. Dr. Zafer Gölen Tuzla University Faculty of Law Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Edin Mutapčić’s invitation upon Bosnia and Herzegovina Tuzla Canton Tuzla City Tuzla University at the International “Bosnian Lands: Usora and Soli – 800 Years Since the First Written Record” named conference attended.  The conference chaired by Prof. Dr. Edin Mutapčić was attended by scientists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, England, Montenegro, Hungary, Croatia. 

 

The opening of the conference took place on 19 September 2025 Friday at Tuzla Mellain Hotel. The opening ceremony, attended by Tuzla Canton officials, academics, and the public, received wide interest in the Bosnian media.

On 20 September 2025 Saturday, at Tuzla University Faculty of Law, presentations took place simultaneously in three separate halls. Gölen presented his paper titled “Tuzla in the Age of Ottoman Reforms (1800-1878)” at the Conference.

 

Following the presentations, the historically significant Srebrenik Fortress was visited. Here, participants were given a briefing on the region’s history accompanied by local music.

After the Srebrenik visit, the Brčko region was visited. The Brčko Library was visited.

 

On 21 September 2025 Sunday, Tešanj Fortress was visited. The program was opened by Tešanj Museum Director Mensura Mujkanović; Tešanj Mayor Suad Huskić also addressed the participants. Following this, in the Captain’s Tower, an art exhibition by academic painter Ahmet Hundur titled “Tracing the Old Bosnian Lands: Usora and Soli” was opened. The exhibition, with 25 works, addressed cultural heritage and covered from Tešanj to present-day Zvornik – that is, cities and towns once belonging to the Usora and Soli parishes. Gölen gave a speech at the exhibition opening. At the exhibition, respectively:

On 22 September 2025 Monday, Gradacac and Srebrenik cities were visited. Both mayors hosted meals in honor of the guests. At lunch, on behalf of Gradacac Mayor Adnan Nurkic, and at dinner, Srebrenik Mayor Adnan Bjelić accompanied the guests. Adnan Bjelić, born in 1983 in Tuzla, graduated from Tuzla University Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 2009. He actively speaks English and Turkish. Under Bjelić's leadership, Srebrenik Municipality continues active work in areas such as local development, cultural heritage preservation, and regional cooperation.

On 23 September 2025 Tuesday morning, Tuzla Canton Archives were visited. During the visit, Archive Director Mr. Omer Zulić provided information about the archive collections and expressed openness to any assistance and cooperation with researchers. During the visit, guests were presented with Tuzla Canton Archive publications and catalog.

Afterward, Banovići city was visited. The Turkish delegation was received by Banovići Mayor Dr. Mehmed Hasanović, who informed the guests about Banovići’s potential and the vision of further promoting the municipality’s cultural and historical richness through scientific-research cooperation. While discussing the next steps of cooperation, the delegation also inspected some potential historical sites for future research. After the meeting, Mayor Hasanović hosted a lunch in honor of the guests at Etno avlija Mačkovac near Banovići.

Šef Katedre, prof. dr. Zafer Gölen, na poziv prof. dr. Edina Mutapčića, nastavnika Pravnog fakulteta Univerziteta u Tuzli, učestvovao je na međunarodnoj konferenciji „Bosanske zemlje: Usora i Soli – 800 godina od prvog pisanog spomena“, održanoj na Univerzitetu u Tuzli, grad Tuzla, Tuzlanski kanton, Bosna i Hercegovina. Konferenciju je predsjedavao prof. dr. Edin Mutapčić, a učesnici su bili naučnici iz Bosne i Hercegovine, Turske, Engleske, Crne Gore, Mađarske i Hrvatske.

Otvorenje konferencije održano je 19. septembra 2025. godine (petak) u hotelu Mellain u Tuzli. Ceremonija otvaranja, kojoj su prisustvovali zvaničnici Tuzlanskog kantona, akademici i građani, izazvala je veliko interesovanje u medijima u Bosni i Hercegovini.

septembra 2025. godine (subota), u Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Tuzli održane su prezentacije u tri paralelne sale. Prof. dr. Zafer Gölen je na konferenciji predstavio rad pod nazivom „Tuzla u doba Osmanskih reformi (1800–1878)“.

Nakon prezentacija, posjećena je tvrđava Srebrenik, gdje su učesnicima dati brifinzi o historiji regije uz pratnju lokalne muzike.

septembra 2025. godine (nedjelja), posjećena je tvrđava Tešanj. Program je otvorila direktorica Muzeja Tešanj, Mensura Mujkanović, a učesnicima se obratio i načelnik Općine Tešanj, Suad Huskić. Nakon toga, u Kapetanovoj kuli otvorena je izložba akademskog slikara Ahmeta Hundura pod nazivom „Tragovima starih bosanskih zemalja: Usora i Soli“, koja je kroz 25 radova prikazala kulturno naslijeđe od Tešnja do današnjeg Zvornika – područja koja su nekada pripadala župama Usora i Soli.

septembra 2025. godine (ponedjeljak), posjećeni su gradovi Gradačac i Srebrenik. Oba gradonačelnika priredila su ručak u čast gostiju: Adnan Nurkić u Gradačcu i Adnan Bjelić u Srebreniku.

Adnan Bjelić, rođen 1983. u Tuzli, diplomirao je na Univerzitetu u Tuzli, Filozofski fakultet, Odsjek za turski jezik i književnost (2009.). Aktivno govori engleski i turski jezik. Pod njegovim vodstvom, Općina Srebrenik aktivno radi na lokalnom razvoju, očuvanju kulturnog naslijeđa i regionalnoj saradnji.

septembra 2025. godine (utorak) ujutro, posjećen je Arhiv Tuzlanskog kantona, gdje je direktor, g. Omer Zulić, pružio informacije o arhivskim zbirkama i izrazio spremnost na saradnju sa istraživačima. Gosti su dobili publikacije i katalog Arhiva Tuzlanskog kantona.

Nakon toga, posjećen je grad Banovići. Turska delegacija primljena je od načelnika Dr. Mehmeda Hasanovića, koji je upoznao goste s potencijalom Banovića i vizijom jačanja kulturno-historijskog bogatstva općine kroz naučno-istraživačku saradnju. Diskutovani su naredni koraci saradnje, a delegacija je obišla potencijalne historijske lokalitete za buduća istraživanja. Nakon sastanka, načelnik Hasanović priredio je ručak u Etno avliji Mačkovac za goste.
