GENERAL INFORMATION
Today, a large amount of resources are allocated to studies related to molecular biology and genetics in developed countries, and the work in this field is rapidly progressing day by day. Technological breakthroughs and new discoveries in the world inevitably bring about the need for change in education. In this context, molecular biology education, teaching and research strategies have been developed and implemented in our country, and new departments have been established in universities. Nevertheless, it is a fact that Turkey still has a large deficit in the trained workforce in the field of molecular biology and genetics.
The elective courses offered in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics provide the necessary infrastructure for students who want to specialize in areas such as biotechnology, bioinformatics, developmental biology, enzymology, cancer mechanisms and treatment, gene therapy, drug research and development. With the research projects they will carry out in their senior year, it is ensured that each student increases their knowledge and skills by participating in research under the supervision of a faculty member.

In addition to being accepted to graduate programs of universities in the country and abroad, graduates can work in research and development and quality control laboratories of the pharmaceutical development and production, health, environment, food, biotechnology, medical diagnosis and treatment, energy and agriculture sectors, as well as in production, sales and marketing departments.
